When
March 9, 2012.
Where
Antarctica. Specifically the Antarctic Peninsula, that part of the frozen continent that juts out from the larger mass as if it is reaching toward South America.
How Far do you run?
Like all marathons, the race is 26.2 miles.
Any special Rules?
Because this is Antarctica, there are incredibly strict rules about human activity. The entire event is painstakingly designed for zero impact on the fragile Antarctic ecosystem.
Who puts on the race?
Marathon Tours and Travel organizes the race. Visit the Race Website.
Does it take a long time to get there?
Oh yes.
Will it be cold?
In March, Antarctica is enjoying the end of the balmy summer season. So, um, yeah, it’s gonna be cold.
